INDUCTOR / TOOLING DESIGN ENGINEER
Description of work: Design and detailing of induction coils, bus, quench cooling rings, and part touch tooling. The engineer will use general and previous design guidelines, combined with hands-on Metallurgical Process Lab experience to design part specific induction coils, bus, quench rings, and tooling. The designer will work with the manager to choose material and manufacturing methods for lowest overall cost. Must be able to work on own from layout drawings with minimum supervision. Responsibilities also include follow-up on material and drawings through the purchasing and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications: - BSME required with 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and 3-5 years experience - AutoCad 2000 or higher experience is required - Solidworks experience is highly desirable - Must have good technical writing and oral communication skills. - Knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures is required. - Metallurgical experience is desirable.
